Paddle Up to the Bar
By Editor
on March 27, 2012
Island Cafe (250 NE Tomahawk Island Drive), a 20-year mainstay, opens April 14th for the 2012 season. If you have ever lived in the Florida Keys and listened to the steel drums, this floating restaurant will take you back to flip-flops, margaritas and swaying palms. Locals are known to paddle up to the bar by kayak, canoe or boat to order favorites like the Island Burger. Dave Calhoun, a favorite singer-songwriter, drops in on occasion to perform songs from his CD Salmon Chanted Harbor. Be sure to come on by and try a taste of the island life while listening to the salmon chant. Call 503-283-0362 or visit online. www.islandcafepdx.com
